Introducing Sam G.
Working as a photographer in London guarantees that you’ll meet a variety of different people and recently I had the opportunity to shoot some headshots with a news professional.
There are two types of clients, those who know what they want immediately and those who require some assistance to nurture their ideas. Sam falls into the former category. In our call he went straight in, “I need your portrait headshot services. I want to unify all of my social platforms; it needs to be professional but playful”. He had some ideas in mind, so the main decision was: do we use the studio or find a location in the city? Well, there was really only one choice, the studio. You just can’t beat the control and creativity it allows for.
Sam arrived at the studio, we grabbed a coffee, put on some tunes, and got to work. One of the benefits of running your own personal studio is the flexibility it affords, allowing you to play with every element to craft the final image. This session I opted to give Sam two different options to play with on his socials. To further add distinction between the shots, we used two different backdrops - a bold red and a deep blue. These colours not only complemented Sam’s outfits (because you always bring more than one!) but also added depth and interest to the final images.
Take a look at a few of my favourite shots below.
